How can I register for a trip?

Are the trips hard? Do I have to be in great physical shape?

We have trips with different difficulty ratings to suit everyone. Just keep in mind that all our trips require some physical effort, but you don’t have to be a super athlete to join.

What's the minimum age to join your trips?

Most trips are open to those 18 years or older. But we do have trips designed for families, so you can enjoy the adventure with your parents/children.

Every trip has it’s own list that we’ll send you when you sign up. You can also see it in the trip PDF available on the booking page. For a quick idea of the thing you might need, check out one of the videos below:

What do I need to bring with me on the trip?

Can I buy/rent stuff from Husaak?

Yes,  we have equipment available for rent (sleeping bag, sleeping mat, hiking boot, hiking bag) and others for sell. You’ll get the option to rent equipment when you make your booking.

Are the trips segregated?

No, but we will occasionally have an all ladies trip on the schedule.

Are there bathrooms?

This is probably the question we get asked the most. Most trips won’t have access to bathrooms during the trip, other than maybe a stop at a gas station along the way. The rest of the time, we’ll be in the wilderness. You will have access the to Hussak Center before and after the trip where we have showers and bathrooms.

What do I need to bring with me on a trip?

This will depend on the nature of the trip. All trips will require you to bring along a sleeping bag, headlight and hiking boots. Some will need additional gear like a sleeping mat, hiking stick or waterproof bag. Check the individual trip’s details for the full list. We also offer gear rental and sale, if you’re missing anything.

Will there be porters to carry my things for me?

No

What happens if there’s an emergency?

Our guiding team are all certified Wilderness First Responders, so they will take any immediate actions if needed. We also do a full risk assessment before every trip and identify the nearest hospitals/clinics in case any additional medical assistance is required.

Can I leave in the middle of the trip?

If you’ve signed up for a trip, you’re expected to complete it. Husaak will not cut the trip short to return people to Muscat in the middle of the trip for any reason other than a medical emergency.

Will there be bugs / wild animals on the trip ?

Depending on the locations and the season, yes. There’s usually less bugs in the winter, but bring bug spray. As for wild animals, there are some, but they’re rare and are not a danger to people.
