Ali Khalil Husain

Ali was trained to be a petroleum engineer, but born to be an explorer. He left Kuwait at the age of 17 and has been exploring this planet ever since. He’s now sharing that experience with you.

Ali lived in many different parts of the world, mainly around salty water and rugged majestic mountains. Along the way, he spent 11 years working in the energy exploration business in Alaska and the Arctic before coming back to the Arabian Peninsula to explore the untouched surface and the rich subsurface.

Ali started his career in the oil industry working for BP exploration in Alaska and the Arctic. He progressed around the world working ion Oman, off shore Abu Dhabi and Kuwait. In 2013, he left the oil industry and his job as the Petroleum Engineering Manager for the world 5th largest oil field to focus on Husaak Adventures.

Khalid met Ali on one of the very first Husaak trips in Oman, and he's been coming back ever since. A film and TV commercial producer by profession, Khalid's background has taken him from the world of finance through to advertising, with stops in software development along the way.   Expeditions to find new and exciting destinations is what Khalid enjoys the most, especially when there's rope or rock climbing. Khalid Jaffar

Saleh Dashti

Saleh is an entrepreneur and an explorer by heart. Saleh and Ali have been camping together since they were children. Since 2008, Saleh has been Ali’s partner in exploring such amazing places as Alaska, Mongolia, Jordan and Southern Arabia. These trips have formed the basis of the existing Husaak expeditions.

Saleh is currently part of the Executive Team and the General Manager of all Oman operations. Saleh brings leadership and discipline to the team. He will be working toward growing and expanding the Oman expeditions to serve more thirsty explorers and adventurers.

Ahmed Alnuaimi

Ahmed is a Petroleum Engineer from Abu Dhabi and his love for the outdoors is connected with his passion for geology. Ahmed and Ali’s love for the outdoors started way back in college during their studies at the Colorado School of Mines. Ahmed has reconnected with Ali in 2008 to explore Oman. When asked why he leaves the comfort of his own home to be out in the rugged mountains he explains, “The greatness of organizing these trips is to have amazing friendships with people who never thought to experience the beauty of doing something new in modernized Arabia. It is a sensation that cannot be measured except with the smiles you note on people’s faces.”

Arwa Abulhasan

Arwa has been a lover of the outdoors since she was a teenager. Skipping luxurious family vacations to go camping, diving, and hiking all over the world. Having lived in the US, Chile, France and Tanzania, she had the chance to explore many different countries and cultures in great depth.

After marrying Ali, they continued to explore the world together, focusing on Alaska and Arabia. Husaak’s guide to Tanzania, Arwa is helping to develop other international expeditions for the adventurous customer. Her favorite moment while guiding in Tanzania is to look at her customer’s awe struck faces when they encounter their first fierce lion. “Karibu Sana to Tanzania and to Husaak Adventures.”

Nikki McDonnell

An experienced Marketer and Sales Manager from Scotland with a passion for the outdoors, most of Nikki’s weekends were spent hiking in the Scottish mountains, on coastal walks or paddle boarding on Loch Lomond with her partner Luke.

In 2019 the couple were looking for a new adventure together and after Luke received a job offer in Muscat, they flew out to see the city. After less than 24 hours in Oman, the decision was made. Muscat would be their new home and the mountains and wadis would be their playground on weekends. When the job of Sales and Marketing Director came up with Husaak Adventures, Nikki jumped at the chance to join the team and she hasn’t looked back!

Hasan Al Hashmi 

Hasan Al Hashmi was born and raised in Abu Dhabi, a petroleum engineer by profession an outdoor & off-road enthusiast by passion. His love for the outdoors started in the middle of UAE's desert where off-roading & desert crossing became his sanctuary to escape the city life, enjoy the company of like minded people while boiling a Karak teapot. Summiting Jabel Shams in 2013 was a turning point where another concept of outdoor life was experienced and from that point onward that new passion grew significantly within Hasan's heart leading him to seek and hike the heights in and out of The Arabian Peninsula

Hasan Al Tuhami

Medical engineer Hassan has always been interested in different sports; and outdoor adventures is on the top of that list. Studying did not stop the 26 year old from pursuing his passion, as he guided hiking groups on weekends back in his hometown.

In 2019, Hassan became an official member of the Husaak team and also obtained a certification by IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association). Hasan is full with Husaak as Country Manager, Saudi Arabia, he has played a key part in the expansion of Husaak in the Kingdom

Justin Halls

After studying and pursuing his career in arboriculture/tree surgery, Justin moved to London where he found himself dragged into more technical rope work over expensive cars and buildings, leading into tiny drop zones. Justin has lived in Oman for the past 15 years, his expertise in rope work and safety allow him to lead technical cave descents and climbs in Middle East and across the world. From leading expeditions, guiding, offering guide instruction and training and being qualified in first aid and rescue, Justin does it all. Over the years he has been involved in extensive film support work including technical rigging and safety roles for filming.

 

The OPERATIONS TEAM

Rayan Al Dossary

Saudi national Rayan was born in Texas but spent half his life living in different countries across the world! Rayan is an adventure enthusiast and a cook by heart, his passion for cooking started at a young age. With Husaak he shares his passion by making the best camp food in town! Rayan joined the Oman internship program in 2019, his first Husaak trip was Jebal Shams and it will always have a special place in his heart. After the program ended Rayan joined as a full-time guide and he is now part of the operations team in KSA.

Monther Maaini

Monther is a young Omani who has started his career as an engineer in the military. Enthusiastic about the outdoors, Monther spent most of his free time exploring the land and sea; obtaining Free Driving and advanced scuba diving qualifications as well as IRATA certification for ropes. In 2017 Monther found Husaak on instagram, after attending a theme trip as a customer he joined the business as a part time guide in 2019. When the role of Operations Manager Oman became available in January 2021, Monther decided to pursue a full time career within an industry he is passionate about.

 

The GUIDES

Khalfan Almansoori

Combining his love for outdoor physical activities and his passion for geoscience, Khalfan couldn’t be happier to join Husaak Team. Khalfan holds a Bachelor degree in Petroleum Geoscience Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. His other eye (the one not looking out for Oil prices) is often on Husaak trips announcements for exploring the world. Setting up camp miles from anywhere is his best kind of adventure. To him, life is all about experiencing something new, challenging yourself, learning and broadening your perspective.

Bader AlGhenaim

Born in 1993, a Saudi sport enthusiast holding a bachelors degree in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University. Bader’s love for sports isn't just about watching or practicing different sports, he is working toward getting a Masters degree in Sports Business from the Johan Cruyff Institute. Bader held the role of Operations Manager with Husaak for 18 months to gain experience and grow in handling responsibilities, growing his social network in the gulf region, and enjoying a healthy interactive lifestyle.

Ahmed Alammadi

Ahmed, aka 3ammadi was born and raised in Bahrain where his backyard was the desert plains and the Arabian Gulf. In 2015, he found his new love of mountains and campfire life when he joined his first trip with Husaak; and he’s been hooked ever since. This aeronautical engineer who works in investments, seeks the great outdoors as a retreat from daily life stress. Ahmed is passionate about traveling and exploring new destinations, he always tries to enjoy every moment of life’s journey; “The Journey is the Destination”

Haya Al Samari

Haya, born to be wild and is a sucker for adventure. Spending all of her life running the streets, hiking, climbing mountains, surfing and diving in the oceans, If she's not doing any of that it's because she's in the office. With a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in systems engineering, Haya works in the petroleum field for Saudi Aramco.

She enjoys sharing her love for the outdoors with others and Husaak is her favorite place to do that. Haya is currently traveling the world, hosting a travel show on MBC called @wainalheen.

Sherin Albloushi

Half Kuwaiti/Filipino, Bachelor’s degree holder (Mass Media & Communications), foodie, fitness junkie, and curious traveler. Sherin joined Husaak’s internship program and is now a part time guide. “Hey all, Sherin here! I grew up in an environment where I was always encouraged to be in the outdoors. This love, with a side of curiosity soon grew over the years and it wasn’t long after my studies when I realized that the corporate world was just not for me. I love to travel and there was something enticing to me about living “the simple life.” These experiences have definitely led to me to where I am today - Husaak.”

Faisel AlDossary

Aka The Runner was born in KSA but spent half of his life living in different countries form the west to the east. A chemical engineer by profession and by passion a runner who loves the outdoors. His love for the outdoors started in the mountains and valleys of Japan where he got his bachelor’s degree. On his first trip to Jebel Shams in 2016, it broke him physically but uplifted him mentally as he stood on that summit and felt the connection with the rest of world. When Faisel is not guiding with us you will find him in Dyno KSA. This world-class indoor climbing center in the Eastern Province was opened by Faisel and his business partners in June 2021.

Mohammad Almaziad

Mohammad transformed from a normal city traveler to a person who can’t live away from the outdoors. It all started when he joined Husaak for his first outdoors experience back in January 2016. Mohammed lived in Boston from 2013 to 2018 where the temperature can reach -30c during winter time. Coming from a harsh cold environment, he appreciated Arabia and its nature even more. Mohammad loves the natural beauty of Oman and its many wild camping spots as it gives him the freedom to do what he wants whether it be a bonfire and tents in the desert, hiking in the mountains, a trip to a massive cave or a spectacular beach.

Mohammed Bin Hasan

An electrical engineer by degree and mover by heart. Living and studying in Australia for 7 years he was exposed to hikes and nature. On his first trip at Jabal Shams in 2017, he found the love for being outdoor, pushing the physical limits and connecting to like minded people. When he is not guiding Husaak trips Mohammed teaches primal movement a form of exercise designed to help people get strong and healthy.

Ibrahim Oman guide

Ibrahim Sarhani

Omani Ibrahim was born in 1990, after school he went on to study Business & Management at university in Melbourne. Ibrahim’s love of the outdoors started in 2009 with a trip to Alsharqiya Sands, his first trip with Husaak was Wadi Hawer in 2020 and he hasn’t looked back since! Ibrahim enjoys photography and is passionate about meeting people from around the world and showing them the natural beauty Oman has to offer.

 

Abdulhamid Al Shabnooti

As he pursued his education in Computer Sciences, one day Abdulhamid realized that this was not his thing, and his dream job would be something to do with the outdoors. Adventuring, exploring and getting familiar with the outdoors became part of his daily routine until in 2015, he eventually found his way into the adventure tourism industry. Soon Abdulhamid, overcame his fear of heights, pursued his swift water rescue training and underwent other courses to educate himself in technical rope-work, abseiling equipment etc. He loves spending time in the mountains, and after 7 years in the industry, he is more in love with the outdoors than ever before.
